News update -- 5 August 2005 bulletin
Preaching tour of CongoIseSomo and Baliesima are currently travelling through Congo, visiting Butembo, Beni, Kisangani, Kinshasa, Boma, Matadi, Brazzaville, Lubumbashi, Mbujimayi. On Sunday 31 July they were in Kindu and God willing they will have left Tuesday 2 August travelling to Bukavu and then on to Aru before finishing in Bunia on the 18th August. This week we read on the BBC website Aid group closes DR Congo clinics. Please continue to pray for Isesomo and Baliesima (Medical Coordinator Anglican Health work for the whole DRC) as they travel through this area — also for all those clinics still trying to care for people in the midst of this continuing trouble. IseSomo and Baliesima are travelling throughout DRC— conducting HIV and Evangelism training in all the Diocesan Centres. The tour is being co-sponsored by BFA and the Archbishop of Sydney's Overseas Relief and Aid Fund (Baliesima's costs). Langham Preaching seminars in CongoOn 13-16 September, Langham Preaching will conduct a training seminar in Butembo organised locally by IseSomo after he attended a Langham Preaching seminar in Uganda last year. We are excited to hear of this seminar training pastors in eastern Congo. Jonathan Lamb, the director of Langham Preaching is visiting Australia 12-24 August (see program). (Several members of the BFA committee are involved with Langham Partnership Australia.) |
