Update from Goma

Malcolm and Elizabeth Richards, CMS missionaries in DR Congo, wrote on 30 November that they were visiting Goma. Things seemed to be back to normal in that they felt quite safe walking around town, schools are back to normal and even prices are starting to come down a bit. They visited the Anglican church in Goma where Pastor Desire Mukanirwa Kadorho was organising the distribution of food—beans and maize flour to the IDPs (internally displaced persons). Pastor Desire had received some money that enabled them to distribute food to over 1500 people.

Last week Pastor Desire sent up-to-date photos to BFA. The six latest photos were taken at the Anglican Church in Goma on 29 November. The remaining photos were taken during food distribution last year at Nzulo camp for displaced people, 20 km from Goma. Nzulo Camp is still home to many displaced people.
