News from Stephane Makata

Pastor Stephane Makata writes to Lauren Curry (10 March 2008):

Stephane Makata
Rev Stephane Makata

Bunkeya is a safe place, trainees and trainers are already selected, they are wating only to be pecised on the date we will be starting. For the time being I'm trying to get ready for my journey if God wants, to Malemba again in order to make a follow up on the evolution on the work on peace building and reconciliation we have started.

So I need your prayers for that because where I'm going there is some insecurity here and there, and the cholera has broken out within the province of Katanga particularly: in Lubumbashi, Likasi, Kolwezi and Malemba Nkulu.

Here at the seat of the Diocese we have organized a reflexion together with the teaching departement on the theme: Is Evangelism possible within our schools? That is we gathered all the teachers and their wives, about 95 persons attend this reflexion.

My Diocese, my family send to you warm greetings without forgetting Rose, Pastor Gram and the Parish of Swac.

Did you see LUMO?

This film is the story of 22 year old Lumo Sinai who comes to HEAL Africa for fistula repair after being brutally raped, presented by missionary Lyn Lusi.

Congo Missionary Lyn Lusi and Australian CEO of CNEC Partners International Kim Vanden Hengel presented the film at Springwood on 4 March 2008. See photos of Kim and Lyn, and Lyn with Springwood members Graham and Wendy Toulmin on the CNEC website photo gallery
